Atlantic Plant Services (APS) was recently awarded the insulation contract for the Newark Energy Center in Newark, New Jersey. APS will provide and install a complete insulation system for the facility, including labor, materials, and equipment, as well as testing and support activities.

The Newark Energy Center is a 655-MW gas-fired electric power plant which will operate as one of the cleanest gas-fired power plants in the United States. The Center will be capable of providing enough electricity for more than 700,000 homes across northern New Jersey and the regional power grid. Scheduled to be operational in May 2015, the facility is being built by a joint venture between Skanska and SNC-Lavalin.
