Brock was named the “Best in Category” Specialty Contractor – Soft Crafts Large at the Houston Safety Awards Banquet hosted by the Houston Business Roundtable (HBR) and Houston Area Safety Council (HASC) on May 15, 2015, at Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX. Brock received more nominations for the award than any other company, from customers including Celanese; Chevron Phillips – Cedar Bayou, Sweeny, and Pasadena; Dow Chemical – Freeport and LaPorte; Eastman Chemicals; ExxonMobil; Flint Hill Resources; INEOS Olefins and Polymers; LyondellBasell; and Shell.

“I’m incredibly proud that the efforts of our employees are recognized by so many of our customers,” Bob Pragada, Brock’s president and CEO, said. “The breadth of nominations demonstrates that our BSafe culture, underpinned by our emphasis on respect and caring, continues to drive safe work completion by everyone at Brock.”

“This is a tremendous reflection on our commitment to safety and the relationships we have with our customers,” Russell Klinegardner, Brock’s senior vice president of health, safety, and environmental, added. “Our employees continue to set the bar for safety performance at our customer sites and within our industry.”

HBR, a non-profit association whose membership consists primarily of refining, chemical and energy companies, has been recognizing industrial contractors in the greater Houston area for their outstanding safety performance since 1988. HASC is also a non-profit dedicated to building safe workplaces by improving the quality and integrity of the workforce. The HBR/HASC Safety Excellence Award is unique in that contractors must be nominated by their clients and there are no self-nominations.
