Brock Scaffold Foreman Deters Crew From Potential Harm

Jose Ramos, Scaffold Foreman, and crew were dismantling a scaffold around a pipe in the customer’s 5 Plat Unit when he noticed a newly installed flange was leaking. Jose quickly informed the crew to get down while he went and reported the findings to operations. The newly installed flange was not torqued down properly, which was causing the leak. The operator had the problem quickly fixed.

Jose was given the Hero Gold Coin for Excellent Hazard Recognition and Reporting Practices. Thank you Jose for your quick thinking and for your commitment to the Bsafe culture!

Insulator Awarded Good Catch For Using Stop Work Authority

Rachel Minter, an Insulator with Brock for 3 years, was climbing a permanent ladder cage and noticed that the ladder was unstable. She identified that the concrete support at the bottom of the ladder was cracked, allowing the ladder cage to be unstable and move while in use creating a safety hazard. She flagged the ladder cage and reported the hazard to her supervisor who then reported the hazard to Brock safety. Brock safety reported the hazard to the customer’s safety team who put in a work order to repair the ladder cage. She was given a Brock Golden Coin for this good catch. Thank you Rachel for being diligent and a true Brock HER0!

Brock Canada Receives Safety Award From Customer

Brock Canada Receives Safety Award From Customer! Brock Canada’s turnaround team for one of our customers, Canadian oil sands producer engaged in exploration in Northern Alberta, was awarded the customer’s monthly safety award, the Golden Toolbox Award, for outstanding safety performance and attitude. For this project, Brock Canada partnered with the Indigenous community in the area, Heart Lake, whose partnership has opened the door at many facilities in the area. During this turnaround, the Brock Canada crew were running a composite crew of Scaffold Builders and Insulators and fully implemented Brock’s Scaffolding Management Solution, which was met with very positive results.
