Brock Canada Honors Supervisor Joe Joerissen

Brock Canada would like to shed the spotlight on fellow employee Joe Joerissen. Joe observed a contractor in distress and in need of medical attention. With no hesitation he initiated the “man-down” procedure according to protocol that set the Emergency Response in play. To take control of an emergency such as this, it takes courage and strength to remain calm and make smart decisions. Joe, thank you for all you do as a Brock Supervisor and mostly as a caring person. It gives us comfort knowing that if we ever find ourselves in need of help, that you and all our Front Line Supervisors will be there making it happen!

Brock Wins Multiple Safety Excellence Awards From Safety Council of the Coastal Bend

Brock recently attended the industrial Industry Safety Excellence Awards Banquet held by the Contractors Safety Council of the Coastal Bend in South Texas. The team won Safety Excellence Awards for several sites and received the Safety Training Evaluation Process Diamond Award on behalf of ABC Inc. This award is given in recognition of safety management excellence, management commitment, a quality written safety program, and OSHA incident rates that are consistently below national averages. Congratulations to the team and thank you for being the prime example of our Bsafe culture.

Brock Participates in Career Day at Eastman Chemical

Last week, a few of our employees had the pleasure of helping to plan and participate in the Eastman Chemical Texas City Career Day. A selected team of our subject matter experts took on the job of making “Bring Your Kid to Work Day” a complete success. Kids were exposed to a variety of topics including career progression, hazard recognition, proper use of PPE and identifying barricades, just to mention a few. Hands on activities brought it all to real life application when the kids could help with scaffold building and insulating tasks.

Rosendo Ramirez Awarded with Brock’s Gold Coin for Hazard Recognition

Rosendo was making his way up a structure to perform an insulation job, and upon reaching the second floor he noticed several extremely hot steel braided hoses going across the walkway. The hoses were hanging approximately 18 inches from ground level. At that moment, Rosendo took action and set up a barricade so that no one tried to crossover the hazard and leaving no other option than to take a different route. Thank you, Rosendo, for taking initiative and making safety a priority, a true Brock HER0.
