Brock attended and participated in ABC/CMEF’s Career Construction Expo at the Pasadena Fairgrounds, where over 400 high school students from the Houston and surrounding areas came to learn about our industry. It was a pleasure meeting our potential future workforce. Excellent job to all of the volunteers in the industry.
Gift of Life Julie Richardson Procter 5K Ribbon Run Color Rush
This past Saturday, several Brock Shared Services employees took part in the annual Gift of Life Julie Richardson Procter 5K Ribbon Run Color Rush in Beaumont, Texas. The focus of the event was to bring awareness to breast and ovarian cancer. The Brock team had a great time and enjoyed being part of such a wonderful event.
Brock Canada’s Orange Shirt Day
Orange Shirt Day honors the legacy of the 2013 St. Joseph Mission Residential School commemoration event, held in Williams Lake, B.C. It grew out of a former student’s account of having her brand-new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school. Wearing an orange shirt is meant to recognize the harm done to residential school students and show a commitment to the principle that every child matters. To show their support, Brock Canada held a team lunch where everyone wore an orange t-shirt. The t-shirts were then donated to The Bissell Centre, an Edmonton organization working with homeless individuals and families in the area.
Safety Shout Out to Brock Industrial!
Brock would like to recognize two Brock Industrial scaffold builders who received Gold Coins for their commitment to safety and leadership. While working at Marathon Refinery in Mandan, North Dakota, both Chris Adams and John Perkins, led by example by reporting numerous Good Catches and Near Misses, while encouraging workers to identify and mitigate hazards, look out for other workers and to always “see something, say something”. Thank you, Chris and John, for taking our Bsafe culture to heart.
